Happy First Birthday!

These two outfits were requests from friends from high school for their sweet babies on their first birthdays. Aren't they adorable? It was my first time to do a birthday hat, but I've been wanting to try. We paid $10.00 for Lily's little one that came from Party City last year, and obviously wasn't personalized or anything. Then I've searched them at boutiques and on Etsy, and the least expensive one I could find was ~$25.00 (+ shipping if on Etsy). I was almost positive I could make them for less than that...almost everything I make is close to half what you would pay in any little baby or children's boutiqe. So anyway, here is little Jackson's shirt and birthday hat.

Here is little Miss Cambrie's outfit. Isn't Cambrie the cutest/most original name you've ever heard? I <3 it. Lily modeled it for me, she is still so little she could probably model anything I do 6mo and up...ha.

Lily did so well as my little model, I was proud of her! I am completely in love with Cambrie's outfit, I love the colors together. I have to say, I was a bit excited when Chloe (Cambrie's mom) told me to just pick whatever colors I wanted to use. As I've said a few times recently, I'm a little burnt out on pink and green...so this was fun for me. I also hadn't done a tutu in quite a while. They are a little tedious, but do you want to know why I love doing them so much? *Don't judge me* I can do them in the living room at night while everyone is sleeping and watch tv at the same time...yes, I know this sounds pathetic. We have one tv in our entire house (I'm not complaining about that), because we don't want the girls sitting in front of it all the time. But anyway, My sewing room is away from everything in the house, and sometimes it is extremely boring to sit and hold a shirt back from the embroidery machine for 30 minutes or so. I can't get up and do anything else, but I'm not really doing anything except for holding some fabric.

Okay I'm done complaining! I am so lucky to have the machines I do, and a great sewing room =). On to the next though. We got the Express catalog in this week and I saw this skirt in it. I want one...really bad...really, really bad. It is $69.50 though, and I decided that I would attempt to make a similar one! Probably without the studs on the denim section, but I think it will look fine without it. Wish me luck!

Princess Madelyn

My friends daughter, Madelyn Grace, is turning one this weekend! She is having a princess party, and I had the pleasure of making her a special little shirt and birthday banner. I can't wait to see her in the shirt! I just bought this Shabby Sweet Ruched Princess Crown from Embroitique last week. The shirt is adorable. I did have to do the file twice, but once I did it the second time and made a couple of changes, it came out perfect. The PDF directions that come with the file say to cut ten inch long strips for the ruffles, and when I did this they were WAY too long. The ruffles were so thick that I broke three needles and had a mini freak out before quitting! However, I went and bought another shirt, and this time cut strips ~5 inches long. This worked wonderfully, and the shirt came out exactly like the picture!

On to her banner, which will look precious in her room after decorating her birthday party. Didn't I tell you that pinks and greens were a trend right now? Oh yes, they are. I am doing a cute little birthday outfit for baby Cambrie in the next couple of weeks that will be pink and turquoise- I'm excited! I have been doing SO many pink and green things lately! The colors just look great together. This banner is the Perfectly Posh Pennant Banner from Embroitique. Remember my adorable Valentines day one here? I LOVE these banners. The party one does take a LOT of thread ( I replaced the bobbin ~every 1.5 pennants), but it is so worth it. The embroidering is beautiful. I can't wait to make out Easter one! 

Of course I had to make Faith a little something yesterday. I got some cute polka dot knit at Hobby Lobby when I ran in for felt ( I can't ever skip the fabric dept). Lily's will be done today. I forgot to post a pic of Lily in her last little t-shirt and knit dress like I made for Faith. I do honestly make her stuff quite a bit too, just somehow forget to take pictures as much. Maybe it's because she is almost impossible to photograph? Anyway, here is Faith in her dress. We went to the park yesterday after gymnastics for our weekly picnic, and she played in it with her friends.

Aren't they sweet? Of course they are four year old girls (which in itself is DRAMA), so moments after this picture one was crying, because the others weren't her friend anymore or something of that nature...geez...it's only the beginning. They are precious though, and I love watching them play =).

Burp Cloth Set and New Shirts

This weekend my lovely niece came and stayed the day and night with us. I was a bit apprehensive about having three little girls running around, but it was actually a very pleasant day/evening. She is just the sweetest little girl, and we truly enjoyed having her. While she was here I made her a little shirt with her name on it and a flower clip to match. The set looked absolutely adorable on her. Here are a couple of pictures of precious Diana Rose.

I also completed an order for a burp cloth set and a birthday shirt for a little boy name Tyhg (pronounced like Tiger, without the -er). His name is spelled T-Y-H-G. His mom and I talked SEVERAL times about the spelling of his name, and how she even misspells it sometimes (Tygh). For some reason people just want to put the G before the H. I assured her that I would check double check before saving it in Embird, and did exactly that. However, I kept thinking the G was first, ugh. So what did I do? I stitched it out Tygh, instead of Tyhg. At least Amber (Tyhg's mommy) and I got a good laugh out of it. Here is the correct (second) shirt. I love the contrast of the lime and royal blue!

Here are the burp cloths I did for her sister. She is naming her baby Mckynzi Kay. I think the spelling is so unique. In the picture the embroidery seems to blend in with the fabric, but it is much more viewable in person. I love love LOVE the first one. That zebra font is from Lynnie Pinnie, and it is a favorite of mine.

 I am extremely excited about tonight! Hopefully I will have pictures in a couple of days. It's another tutorial I got from Tatertots and Jello. How does she think of all these AWESOME ideas? I wish I knew!

Christmas Presents and More

It is the day after Christmas! Woohoo, I made it! I actually still have a couple of little things to work on...for people I haven't seen yet...haha. We had such a wonderful Christmas with our families. I love them all dearly and am so very blessed to have everyone in my life that I do. So I made a ton of Christmas towels on top of the ones I've already posted, but they are all fairly similar. I don't really think I should keep posting pictures of them. I have plenty of other neat things I've made the past few days! Thank goodness we were in Austin. I would have never been able to get it all done. Thankfully I have a terrific mother and grandmother to help with my rowdy little girls =). I made these wine bags for different members of my family for Christmas presents. I LOVED how they came out. In fact, I told my mom they are one of my favorites so far. I looked up a ton of different directions on how to make them, and then I just kind of did what I thought? I have two more to finish up for friends. Here are the three I did this week. Aren't they adorable? Wine bags are $20.00. You tell me the color scheme and letter. If paying on my blog, there is a $2.00 charge for paypal. I really think they make a perfect gift!

 One of my cousins in Kansas wanted me to make her daughter Madison a birthday outfit. Madison loves Dora so this is what I came up with. Of course, I forgot to take a picture of the bow. It totally completes the outfit! I really am happy with the Dora outfit. I think it will look adorable on her!

I guess I could really do any sort of character set that I could find fabric of for a birthday or just a special set. They have a ton of different fabric choices for all of the Disney characters. This was really the only Dora I saw though. And they had it everywhere I went. JoAnne's, Hobby Lobby, and Wal Mart.

I finished the pink and green tutu set for my friend Crystal. It is so cute.The set is $40.00 and can be in any two colors that you like! The flower applique is from Lynniepinnie. I tried to get Lily to model the outfit, so you could get the full effect, but...you see how well that turned out...haha.

This is an almost complete project. Zach's cousin has twin girls, Camryn and Chloe. I am making letters for their room. I got Camryn's done this week (except for putting the ribbon on to hang them by). The colors came out absolutely beautiful! I can't wait to do Chloe's. I also did some last month that I guess I never posted pictures of. I really thought I put pictures up, but I guess not. I just looked back through and couldn't find them. So here they are too. Custom letters are $12.00 each. I can do any color/theme!

It's Official

I am the WORST blogger ever right now. I can't keep up. I've been staying up late finishing projects and such and by the time I am done I just fall asleep. I haven't had time to put any new pictures or blog at all the past couple of weeks! This will only have a couple of pictures too, but I had to put up something new. I was so busy preparing for the Christmas Market (that turned out awful by the way). It was freezing and raining ALL day. So here are the towels I did for part of Faith's presents for her teachers. I loved every single one!

 

 

Faith's teacher ordered a birthday shirt from me for her little girl Molly. Here it is. Birthday shirts are $20.00 with a name and number. You pick the colors. Paypal charge of $2.00 is added at check out.

I will try my very hardest to blog again tomorrow with more pictures! I have done so many other things and have forgotten to take pictures. I hate when that happens! But for now, these will do. Everyone have a wonderful Thursday!

Brayden's Birthday Presents

I made Brayden three shirts for his birthday presents. I just love how they came out! They are 15.00 each for long sleeve! I can do the tie in any fabric. I just ordered business cards, YAY. They are adorable. I can't wait to get them in! Now I need to go clean, Lily is still napping and Faith is at school and I have been on the computer for far too long.
